Annual New Law Conference

United Suburban Schools Association offers Oklahoma school administrators the ONLY in-depth conference regarding newly enacted laws and SDE rules.  Each June, in partnership with the Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration, USSA brings in education law experts to analyze and explain the requirements of newly enacted statutes and regulations.

Professional Development

USSA offers a full day of professional development each September.  This event is targetted to the needs of suburban school administrators and focuses on four topics: academic issues, integration of technology into the classroom, school finance, and superintendent / leadership issues.  In addition to the annual Staff Development Day, USSA offers member designed and driven professional learning opportunities at our regular business meetings.  These learning opportunities are another great way to address the needs of our members!

Annual Legislative Dinner

Each November USSA hosts a legislative dinner for suburban school district administrators, school board members, and legislators.  The event provides an opportunity for policymakers to interact with suburban school leaders.  The event also provides a forum for the continued critical conversation regarding education policy, funding, and student achievement.

Advocating for Public Education

During the legislative session USSA, in partnership with CCOSA and OSSBA, hosts a weekly legislative briefing for Oklahoma's school administrators.  This weekly update allows educators, and our supporters, to be made aware of the issues and bills impacting our state's public schools.  In addition to the weekly briefing, USSA works to provide opportunities to our members to network with elected officials and discuss issues impacting Oklahoma's suburban school districts.
